Living with Intention

I've been thinking about New Year's Resolutions. (This being New Year's Eve and all.)
Originally, I thought I would make my first resolution, "Live with intention." But I'm not exactly sure what that means. I think it means, pay attention to your life. Don't let it go by in a blur. Don't let it end without accomplishing goals.
But how does that translate to everyday living? How do I take that to the next level and apply it to my everyday life?
First, I need to set goals. Otherwise, I don't know what to be intentional about.
I need to reflect on the direction my life is taking and whether I'm letting it go or guiding it in a systematic and thoughtful way. I need to choose my path.
Second, I need to determine the steps I have to take to get where I want to go.
And finally, I need to act.
I don't want to let my life go by. I don't want to be 65 or 70 and think, is this all there is?
I want my life to mean something.
 Here we go.
